KLUNEN

KLUNEN first saw light in Prague, Czech Republic, in 2003, when founding member Nick Gerlo baptized our project in a great ordeal of absinth-minded enthusiasm. Henceforth, KLUNEN has been composing music centred around two basic affects: that of lightness, and that of weight.



 

Lightness: Taste this fruit, good friend. It will soften your spirit and your senses bend.

 

Weight: My destiny lies far beyond these shores, [.] the seas I'll cross and the scythe I'll wield to strive to seek to find and not to yield.

 

KLUNEN wishes to capture and express the whole scope and array of feelings that emerge from these affects, ranging from utter ecstasy to downright frustration, from restlessness to basic melancholy, the heartbeat of the moment felt, the knife's edge.Lightness and weight, and the subtle vertigo between them.
