Bergtatt is a folkrock-band from the misty mountains of Norway. The band consists of 7 members with a diverse musical background.
Bergtatt gets a large part of its inspiration from old traditional Norwegian music and blend this with the power of rock. The result is a forceful and potent musical unit with a clear appeal to the present. Because the music is rooted in Norwegian traditional music, various folk instruments are heavily integrated in Bergtatt's sound, such as Hurdy Gurdy, Nykkelharpa (Keyed fiddle) and hardanger fiddle. The influences of Bergtatt's members range from early music, to traditional Nordic folk music, to rock/alternative rock and metal. Several of the members are musically educated.
