Karakuri aims to reflect on the manipulation that our society is under.

... During the past 50 years, rapid advances in science have generated a growing gap between public knowledge and those owned and used by the ruling elites. With biology, neurobiology and applied psychology, the "system" has enjoyed a sophisticated understanding of human beings, both physically and psychologically. The system has gotten better known to the common person than he knows himself. This means that, in most cases, the system exerts greater control and a great power over individuals, greater than that of individuals about themselves. (Noam Chomsky)

Cristina Ruano, Amanda Lopez and Luis Ortiz show through this work their personal interpretation of the Neurospasta´s concept , a term used by the Greeks in antiquity to refer to puppets.

Sinopsis:

El proyecto Neurospasta pretende reflexionar sobre la manipulación a la que está sometida nuestra sociedad.

...En el transcurso de los últimos 50 años, los avances acelerados de la ciencia han generado una creciente brecha entre los conocimientos del público y aquellos poseídas y utilizados por las elites dominantes. Gracias a la biología, la neurobiología y la psicología aplicada, el "sistema" ha disfrutado de un conocimiento avanzado del ser humano, tanto de forma física como psicológicamente. El sistema ha conseguido conocer mejor al individuo común de lo que él se conoce a sí mismo. Esto significa que, en la mayoría de los casos, el sistema ejerce un control mayor y un gran poder sobre los individuos, mayor que el de los individuos sobre sí mismos. ( Noam Chomsky )

Cristina Ruano, Amanda López y Luis Ortiz muestran a través de este trabajo su interpretación personal del concepto Neurospasta, término usado por los griegos en la antigüedad para referirse a los títeres.
