Music by: Rockstar Poetry Project SCENE: Hip Hop/Funk/Jazz/Soul/Rock/Poetry One of the first artists I saw perform when I moved to the Chicago area was Khari B. That night my definition of poetry was redefined. Years later when I saw him with the Rockstar Poetry Project my definition of music was redefined. There is a presence of energetic freedom that follows him before he even takes the stage and that same presence is magnified by the Rockstar Poetry Project. The band is like an all star team of Chicago musicians. A combination of Spoken Word backed with a Funk/Jazz sound, the Rockstar Poetry Project is unrestrained fun and an amazing blend of two different art forms. Words just don't cut it when describing them; it's a musical experience you must be a part of.
