DESCRIPTION:
Kevin Bennett (The Flood) at the Pigram Brothers Broome to Bicton 10.03.13!

When KB crawled from the Namoi swampland deep in the Pilliga scrub, just north of nowhere in particular, he had one thing on his mind - YES... creating the perfect 'pop' song, that is: telling the story, making it rhyme and getting the hell outta there in under 3 minutes flat! Many had tried before, many had failed gallantly, brave failures one and all, so KB took up the cause.

Over the years, he has been diverted from his quest, seeing songs by his contemporaries, such as 'Stairway to Heaven, Hotel California, American Pie, The Real Thing' (all clocking in at over 7 minutes!), become generation-hopping anthems. He even wrote 'Drowning in the Milk', a 7 minute workout he saw as an 'Australian Pie' of sorts!

Still, success eluded him and he found his way back to the fold - his quest, as yet unfulfilled, has exposed him to many places (the world), people (friends), predicaments (life experiences) and I guess this in itself is success.

'There's no success like failure
and that failure's no success at all'
- Dylan (thanks Bob).

Along the road the headlights shine on all those who have joined, or participated in this quest, noble soldiers past and present - Rufus Bullfinch, Blue, Emu, The Daylights, The Honeymoon, Moving Pictures, Chasin The Train, The Six Amigos, The Stetsons, Woodpickers, Broderick Smith Band and, of course, The Flood with Gern, Jim and Tim currently mixing up the musical potion that just might lead to the discovery of that perfect song

'It was a beautiful song but it ran too long, if you're gonna have a hit, you've got to make it fit, so they cut it down to 3:05' - Joel (thanks Billy).

Hey, it's the journey that counts, right??? - KB
