Hall of the Mountain Speedlab - the Glasspack - Video
PUBLISHED:  Feb 11, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
"Hall of the Mountain Speedlab," was recorded in 1999 at The Rocket House, home of Jon Cook (Crain, Orange Telephone), by Jon Cook, R.I.P., in Louisville, Kentucky. Jon was the first one to ever record the Glasspack. It is the first song on the Glasspack's first full-length release, "American Exhaust." Originally intended for Man's Ruin Records owned by artist Frank Kozik, the debut record found its way through Dave's "made-up record label" Riverock Records and was distributed world-wide. "Speedlab" is also known as "Jon's Song," and he would never let the Glasspack forget it. Jon had pushed the record button while the band was warming up and thus, he created "his Glasspack song," with the band completely unaware. In this format, it was mixed by Will Hancock and mastered by Jack Endino. It has been uploaded as tribute, gratitude, and respect to Jon Cook, who passed away Feb. 9, 2013 and was an inspiration, mentor, and friend of the band. Without Jon, many things would never have happened. He will always be loved and never forgotten. This one is for you brother.
