Ken Cowan, organist plays Leo Sowerby's Pageant which is based on a heroic theme that recurs in five variations. The work is a pedal extravaganza and a challenge even the best organist's pedal technique. Sowerby composed this piece for the young Italian virtuoso, Fernando Germani, the organist at Saint Peter's Basilica in Rome. Germani commented after seeing the score; "Now write me something really difficult".

The pipe organ at Saint Paul's Episcopal Cathedral in San Diego was built by Quimby Pipe Organs of Warrenburg, Missouri. In all of my travels with all of the pipe organs I hear and recorded this is the finest new pipe organ built in the Symphonic Style. The reeds are extraordinary, the swell boxes provide a wide dynamic range, the Diapason Choruses are Willis like and the solo flute very orchestral.
