Imaginative, influential, innovative, are all adjectives that can be

used to describe Keith "WayLeft" Jones. The New Brunswick, New Jersey

native is a 26 year old producer extraordinaire. Like so many others his

passion for music originated in a strong church-oriented upbringing

initiated by his parents Keith Sr. and Donna Jones. His father a Pastor and

mother a Youth Minister. At the age 6 Jones began playing the drums in

his father's church. He continued pursuing the drums in talent shows

and on local drill teams. However, other talents emerged and set Jones

on another path.

After graduating from New Brunswick High School in 1999, Jones enrolled

in Alabama State University and later Centenary College where he

starred on the basketball court. While in High School Jones starred on the

football field, as well as playing point guard on numerous AAU and Summer League

basketball championship teams. He hoped to pursue a career in professional

sports. Ironically it was while attending Alabama State that Jones’

musical career was born. Jones began hanging out at a local studio

owned by Kevin ‘Khao’ Cates. This is when the production side of the

business intrigued him. Jones began to enthusiastically approach music

production with dedication and gusto. He purchased an MPC2000 that

didn’t have a working screen and started navigating it by trial and era.

Jones continued to master his craft by creating a studio in his parents

basement buying equipment piece by piece. Jones practiced rigorously

to earn respect as a formidable producer. He initially garnered interest

from locals in New Jersey before eventually starting his own

production company WayLeft Music Group LLC in 2004. Jones set out to make a

style of music that expressed the versatility to adapt across genres.

Drawing on influences such as Quincy Jones, Timbaland and Dr. Dre to create

his own unique sound. This is evident when you observe the range of his

resume.

Jones has worked with artists such as John Gray, Naughty By Nature,

Nucci Reyo, The Bleach Brothers, Kool G Rap, Ruga, Newz, Khao, T. Waters,

Young Boss, Jayci, Heaven Gatewood, Daytona, Candace Jones and countless others. His

music has appeared on several mixtapes including those of DJ Envy, DJ

Absolute, DJ Radio, DJ Lazy K, DJ Onpoint, DJ Hypnotiq and several

others overseas. Aside from mainstream music Jones has also found a passion for

scoring films. He has scored two independent films Locked Doors Broken

Windows, and The Wolf. His music has also been featured in Ford Motor

Group’s 2007 Expedition National campaign. Jones' music is also featured in

Tic Tac USA’s 2008 “Remake the Shake” National campaign. Also

notable is the appearance of his music in HBO's Floyd Mayweather vs.

Auturo Gatti Championship Fight in 2005.

In a few short years Keith Jones has transformed himself from a novice

producer to a rising star in the world of music production. It has been

a long and trying journey from sleeping on a couch in the basement to

meeting with high powered executives. All the while keeping his focus and

passion burning. Jones is poised to become the best producer possible,

working on improving daily. His effort won’t stop until his name is

mentioned in the same breath as the legends who influenced him.
