InI was born Antwan Barrett, in this here U.S. in Elizabeth, NJ. I was raised in Roselle, NJ amongst family & friends where InI learned about spirituality and my greatest love under JAH, music. From singing in church and in school I learned to love music and took it a step further in 1994 when I picked up the bass(thanks 2 Jermaine Jackson & James Jamerson). From there InI taught I-self 2 play and write. In 2003 I graduated from William Paterson University with a B.A. in Jazz Performance. Growing up a Christian as a youth I held on to the fruit that I found in the faith(Christ), but the tradition I began to drift away from. Around that time I changed my name to Joshua David, reflecting the newness of being "born again" a Nazarite under the Lordship and example of Negus Negast(King of Kings) Haile Selassie I(Power of the Trinity), Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Elect of God, Light of the World, & Earth Rightful Ruler. I learned that life and especially faith can't be limited to four walls and a few believers. JAH love & order can be seen thru nature and that every living soul can share. It was then that I search out H.I.M. Haile Selassie I, and about the work He did not only to unite African people, those of the Christian faith & others, but the world at large as a founder of the United Nations. This in turn led me back to Bob Marley & the Wailers, the Heptones, Jacob Miller & Inner Circle, Peter Tosh, Burning Spear, The Ethiopians, The Abbysinians, and Third World,etc. realizing they were singing about the same things that InI meditated upon. So InI beagn to write about my experience, incorporating what I had learned from working with artists like: Q-Tip, Common, Renee Neufville, James Poyser, producer Chris Sholar, Redman, Rodney Jerkins, Aisha Morris, Malik Pendleton, Kevin Jones & 10th World, Brian Horton, Kelvin Sholar, Maxx Herre, Joy Denalane, James Williams(rest on I-dren), Kim Burrell, Nancy Jackson, Sherri McGhee, Israel & New Breed, T.C. Carson, PVD, Soul Cycle, Oddlogic, Sun Singleton, Mango Room, Kevin Louis, Riddm Nation, Frank McComb, Carlos Haire, Dartanyan Brown, Earthman, Jana Herzen, Noe Feliz, as well as many others.
