The influences of house music and
techno in all its forms, inspired Meilys Messina and Eric Abate to start
on the world of music production, we started to discover and explore the exquisite
world of dance music.,.The roots: (we who are…)
Kaixta and Belgium's Little Italy
Meilys & Eric are living in Belgium for the majority of their life, settling in the French area. The international feel continued during the industrial revolution when the whole Wallonia region in which Liège is located saw a huge expansion in coal mining, iron making and coke production, giving rise to it. However, there weren't enough locals to work in the pits, foundaries and factories, so thousands of immigrants moved into Liège and its surrounds from Flanders, France, Germany,Poland, Spain and in particular from Italy.
Their presence was so huge that they became known as 'Italo-liegeois', and they brought with them many of their passions, like those for good food, opera and sport; particularly the sport of cycling.
Eric met Meilys a few years ago and they then married in 2010; their daughter Alicia arrived on the scene in October 2002.
Passion
We are interested in Ancient history, mythology, philosophy, mathematical, photography, dancing and of course music!
The Music
Kaixta, initially inspired by the German Techno-scene and well-known for his progressive sound, seducing the crowds with a harmonious combination of Deep, Funky, Tribal, from Progressive Electro Beats to Minimal-Tech House.
"A lot of music has had a huge influence on our productions: we like everything from De la soul to sonic youth, Bjork, from Derrick May to Christian Fischer, Mike Patton…, totally freaked out stuff, everything that makes sound and moves us. We will buy and play electro, house, minimal, whatever you wanna call it, we like everything.
