Easily my most ambitious project! Please share & favorite! :)

"Swanee" is an American popular song written in 1919 by George Gershwin, with lyrics by Irving Caesar. Gershwin played it at a party where Al Jolson heard it and later recorded it for Columbia Records in 1920. It became Gershwin's first hit and the biggest-selling song of his career.
The barbershop arrangement was written by/for the Bluegrass Student Union, my favorite quartet. This is one of their finest pieces, and I've wanted to sing it for ages. Finally, it's done!

--- LYRICS
I love the coolness of the water
I love the softness of the shore
Someday I know that I will go
Homeward, that's where I long to be
The fish are jumping from the river
The birds are graceful as they soar
I know that they want me today
River I hear you calling me to

Swanee, How I love you, how I love you
My dear old Swanee
I'd give the world to be
Among the folks in
D-I-X-I-E-ven now My mammy's
Waiting for me
Praying for me
Down by the Swanee
The folks up north will see me no more
When I go to the Swanee Shore

I've been away from you a long time
I never thought I'd missed you so
Somehow I feel
You love is real
Near you I long to/wanna be

The birds are singing it is song time
The banjos strumming soft and low
I know that you yearn for me too
Swanee, you're calling me
I hear you
