DESCRIPTION:
A version of Child Ballad 95. This is the version I have heard most often. Led Zeppelin recorded a version of this on their album Led Zeppelin III. Theirs was ultimately based on a version popularised by Leadbelly but unlike in most traditional versions where the person about to be hanged is freed, Led Zeppelin had him hanged after the hangman had accepted all the bribes.
