DESCRIPTION:
Inspired by Reg Meuross song "I'm the Man in Edward Hoppers Bar". Edward Hopper painted 'Nighthawks' just after Pearl Harbour. I saw the woman as a Police officer with her Police partner. (lyrics follow)
--------------------------------------------------

I'm the girl in Edward Hoppers bar
...................................................................

One last coffee will see me through
broke a nail, my heels gone too
three in the morning, feel like a wreck
in Edward Hoppers bar

Me and Dick partners for some time
he lost his wife back in 69
working for vice, these last six years
In this dirty lonely town

I'm the girl in Edward Hoppers bar

Its quiet on the streets quiet in the bar
I tell Dick go fetch the car
but hes too relaxed to travel far
from Edward Hoppers bar

September night in our joyless town
Pimps and hookers we try and put down
its peaceful here, a little time out
in Edward Hoppers bar

I'm the girl in Edward Hoppers bar

Pour me a coffee Joe make it strong
reports to write, this shifts been long
Joes a sweet guy trying his best
In this empty back street bar

The guy on his own, he says hello
out of town singer trying to make some dough
we talk awhile in that deserted place
in Edward Hoppers bar

I'm the girl in Edward Hoppers bar

another day another dime
one day Ill get away from crime
kiss this night hawks life goodbye
leave Dick in Hoppers bar

One last coffee will see me through
broke a nail, my heels gone too
three in the morning, feel like a wreck
in Edward Hoppers bar

I'm the girl in Edward Hoppers bar
