A Spanish-Portuguese melody for the famous hymn, Adon Olam. It is sung at the conclusion of the Sabbath Morning Prayer, and sometimes sung as a preparation for reading the daily morning prayers. Based on the Thirteen Principles of Faith of Rabbi Moshe ben Maimon (the Rambam), the following is a free translation:

Lord of the universe who reigned before any created being was created;

At the time that all was created according His will, then was His name called, "King".

After all has come to an end, He alone will reign in awe.
He was, He is and He will be in glory; He is one, and there is not a second

who can be compared to Him or who is His peer.

He has no beginning and no end, His is the strength and the dominion.

Incomparable and indescribable, without change or substitute;

Neither a combination of elements, or separable into parts, great is His power and strength.

He is my G-d, my living Redeemer, my stronghold on the day of trouble.
He is my banner and my refuge, my cup's portion on the day I call.

Into His hand I entrust my spirit, and with my spirit my body, too.

The Lord is for me, I shall not fear.
