Sarah & the Stanleys playing at the Rockwood on Nov 9th 2010.

This is a little mashup ditty I like to call Lonesome Friend. It's of course a cover of Hank Williams' incredible I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry written in 1949 and the old hymn What a Friend We Have in Jesus written in the 1800's. They seem to make sense to me as a pairing. I took much inspiration from Aretha Franklin's cover of What a Friend on her live album Amazing Grace.
