DESCRIPTION:
My guitar quest has finally ended.

After much pain and suffering (yes, I bought it at Guitar Center) I have brought home my bundle of joy and I am now getting to know it.

I threw this song/video together very quickly. It's all one-take. I played to a canned drum track. I ran the bass direct, and mic'd my Fender DeVille for the guitar tracks.

Guitar Center didn't make buying this guitar easy, but I ended up getting exactly what I wanted at the price I wanted.

The guitar I am talking about is an Epiphone Casino. Yes, the guitar played by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Keith Richards, The Edge, etc.

The standard Casino is a mid-priced priced guitar that is made is China. The guitars the Beatles played were probably made in the U.S. I know today's models are not the exact same quality, but the Casinos were not a high-end guitar in the 60s either. The Casino was/is Epiphone's answer to the Gibson ES-330. The Gibson ES-330 sells for about $2,500, so I can't compare the two guitars, as the Casino sells for ΒΌ the price of the ES-330.

But that's not really the point, as I wanted a Casino. I have never played a Gibson ES-330, so I can't compare the two anyway. I can tell you that the Casino I bought plays and sounds great. I was worried because I knew it wasn't a high-end guitar and did I want the guitar just because of the Beatle connection. I wanted/needed another electric guitar that had a more diverse sound. I wanted to be able to get a more indy, jazzy, etc. sound, and my current electric didn't have that diversity. So the guitar had a purpose besides just looking really cool.
