THE LOUNGE LIZARDS, comprised of DJ Kemit and Luke Austin, readily accepted the musical challenge to flip “U LIVE 2 FAR AWAY” and add their flavor. Their rendition is tastefully brought back up to a respectable house tempo with a deep, pushy, psychedelic swing that creates a dark but friendly vibe guaranteed to get the freaks spinning on the dance floor.

DJ Kemit, formerly of Grammy Award winning Hip Hop group Arrested Development, and has since worked with the likes of Cooly's Hot Box (in a collaboration with John-Christian Urich on “Wasted Time”), Eric Roberson, Lady Alma Horton, N'Dambi, Music Soul Child (Tour), Tasha Larae, Josh Milan, Rich Medina, Lil John Roberts, Robert Glasper & Chris Dave.
Luke Austin is best known for his keyboard work on Jill Scott's “Fools Gold”, Tisha Cambell's "Steel Here" and B Slades cover of Janet Jackson's "Alright". If you have been paying attention, you might recognize Luke as a touring keyboardist for Mary J Blige, Destiny Child, and R Kelly.

Tortured Soul is 100% LIVE, modern, deep, soulful, house music. The band’s frontman and songwriter, John-Christian Urich, can be seen simultaneously drumming and singing with effortless mastery, while bassist, Jordan Scannella, and keyboardist, Isamu McGregor, virtuosically generate the pulsating accompaniment that has been making bodies sweat for years and continues to be what Gilles Peterson called “The future of house music.” Influenced by the classic songcraft of Prince, Heatwave and Kool & The Gang, and likened to The Roots of house music, Tortured Soul’s sound is reminiscent of neo-soul groups like Jamiroquai or Brand New Heavies, while also being deeply saturated in the contemporary freshness of house purveyors like Joey Negro, Louie Vega, Soul Clap and Disclosure.
