4'33'' by John Cage (Jazz Arrangement) | The Hernandez Orphanage of Music - Video
PUBLISHED:  Nov 25, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
The very famous 4'33" by John Cage composed in 1952 is a three-movement composition. Though commonly perceived as 4 minutes and 33 seconds of silence, the intention is actually to listen to the sounds of the environment while being performed.

This Jazz rendition of Cage's 4'33" was performed live at the TAGO Jazz Cafe, Philippines on the 18th of November, 2014. As with a normal jazz bar, the audience are very free to clap and even make noise as the piece is being played, especially when the solo is smoking awesome. The performers still count the chordless changes in their head. This is why the performers still give the tempo in the beginning, pass solos, trade-fours, and signal the return to the head.
