"Spanish Harlem" written by Jerry Leiber and Phil Spector and first recorded by Ben E. King in 1960, was covered by The Mamas & the Papas on their debut album, If You Can Believe Your Eyes and Ears, released in March 1966 on Dunhill Records. Personnel on the album included Wrecking Crew members Larry Knechtel - keyboards, bass guitar, Hal Blaine - drums, and Joe Osborn - bass guitar. The album reached #1 on the Billboard 200 album chart. The song is available on CD on All the Leaves are Brown on Geffen and on The Mamas and the Papas Complete Anthology Box set on the MCA/Universal UK label.
