Jodie Resther has returned with a new music identity, mixing her Quebecer and Jamaican roots to create a style of her own: Ragasoul. Descending from reggae and soul music, Ragasoul embraces both the feel-good rhythms of the Caribbean island and the polyrhythmic passion of world music, the distinctive styles combining to form a joyously positive vibe and energy. The word raga, from Sanskrit, means color and passion--two words perfectly describing the young artist whose stage presence and vocal strength have drawn comparisons to Janet Jackson, Beyonc and Mariah Carey; like those artists, Jodies sensual and powerful voice adds her own singular signature to every song. Signed with DEJA Musique in Canada, Jodie is currently preparing her latest album, writing her own lyrics and building her melodies with the help of renowned producers from Canada, France and United States.
