To be good or great at what you do requires several things.....and one of the most important is passion.
Those of us who have followed the Houston Blues scene for a while (decades now) came to admire
Jerry Lightfoot and Big Walter as perfect examples of men on fire with passion for the blues.

From 1992 to 1995, I taped several of Jerry's performances (and this one with Big Walter) with a cheap VHS camcorder and very little knowledge of videography. Add to that the poor lighting in most of the clubs and the fact that the VHS cassettes sat in storage for almost 20 years.......well.......it's amazing this video is viewable at all!
But, it is what it is .....and I guess any record of Jerry and Big Walter is better than none.

A special thanks also goes out to the members of the Essential Band.
They gave us hours and hours of pleasure over the years......as they sang the blues!
This video is dedicated to Big Walter and the memory of Jerry Lightfoot.......men whose passion for their work should be a lesson for all of us.
