I didn't know I was sitting in flames
I was always so very cold
What began as just a game
Turned into a fight
For my soul

Only when I tried to get out
Could I finally feel the pain
Had no doubt I was dying inside
So why did I fight
To stand

I got down on my knees
But I didn't ask to be set free
I just couldn't say those words
'cause what if God really heard
So I talked about other things
But he say me look His way
He sent me a miracle
And I didn't even have to pray

Now I smile and I laugh out loud
And I sing in the car again
I watch the snowflakes fall to the ground
Still feeling the sun
On my skin

Every fall is a stepping stone
To the place I'm safe and sound
Fear is fading as my heart finds home
So far from the dark
Frozen ground

Where I got down on my knees
