The Bel Canto Choir of the Indianapolis Children's Choir performs Welsh composer Karl Jenkins's "Adiemus," during their October, 2012 concert "Music of the NIght," at Broadway United Methodist Church in Indianapolis. The performance features Martin Ellis at the console of the III manual/54 rank Reynolds Associates pipe organ.

There is actually no translation for the words, since they were created by the composer. Jenkins writes, "The text was written phonetically with the words viewed as an instrumental sound, the idea being to maximise the melisma (an expressive vocal phrase) by removing the destraction, if one can call it that, of words." Although the word, "adeimus," is simliar to to the Latin word for "we will draw near," the composer claims to have been unaware of this when he wrote the work.

The work was used as an advertising theme for Delta Airlines in the 1990s.

The sound is evocative and magnificent, and is performed here as a processional, with Joshua Pedde conducting.
