Soulful, compassionate and gifted, Jasmine Rhey is a singer/songwriter, student and philanthropist who aims to “change the world for the better through music, song and the way [she] lives her life.” The 22-year-old has enough talent and determination to accomplish just that.

Born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Jasmine Rhey has been passionate about music and singing as long as she can remember. At the age of 12, she began taking vocal lessons and performing in various stage plays and musicals along with many solo gigs.

From the moment she stepped on stage, and the butterflies flew away, she knew that was where she belonged. Collaborating with other independent artists and singing cover songs at local venues was an inspiring step toward her goal of recording her own full-length album. Singing original songs that she penned, she tells her own unique story with the hope that her words may touch listeners with a postitive message.

Jasmine’s vision has been realized with the release of her debut album, Perfect Imperfections, a recording ?lled to the brim with lush beats, soulful melodies and thought provoking and poignant lyrics. Perfect Imperfections gives a glimpse into the soul of a young woman, wise beyond her years, who has taken life’s lessons and used them to mold herself into a well- balanced person and a positive role model, not only in her personal life, but also in the music industry.

Jasmine Rhey has performed extensively throughout Jacksonville at many of the city’s premier venues and festivals, including but not limited to The Landing, Square One,

The Seawalk Pavilion, The Leopard Lounge and The World of Nations Celebration, held every spring at Jacksonville’s Metropolitan Park.

In 2006, Jasmine Rhey competed in two pageants and was crowned Miss African

American Student Union and Miss Black and Gold for Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity

Incorporated. She was also a member of The University of North Florida’s Gospel Choir. As a member of The International Peace Performers, led by Frances Key, she had the honor of performing at the 2009 Department of Peace National Conference in Washington, D.C.

Jasmine’s second love is language. She has recently graduated from The University of North Florida with a degree in Spanish and is currently in Egypt studying Arabic. During her stay in Egypt, she is also selling and promoting her album, and performing her songs at different events in the country as well as learning to play the Oud, an Arabic guitar.

The album’s ?rst single, “Life Goes On” and the accompanying video present real life scenarios of actions and their consequences. With tales of joy, pain, and hope, Perfect Imperfections intends to take listeners “Higher”, as states the title of another song on the recording, and is a must-hear for anyone who desires R&B music that has substance as well as soul.

Jasmine Rhey is the future of R&B/Soul music and the whole world will soon take notice of this rising star.
