Follow Jan Erik Mikalsen at the premiere of "Too much of a good thing is wonderful" in Bergen.

The work will also be performed at Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival together with bit20 November 22.

Mikalsen is named the new Music Norway INTRO Composer – a launching program for young composers. Mikalsen will be the program’s focus composer for the period 2014-16.
Mikalsen has studied at Bergen’s Grieg Academy as well as The Royal Danish Academy of Music. Despite his young age, he has made a mark for himself with commissions and performances with most of Norway’s main symphony orchestras as well as international ensembles and festivals such as Nordic Music Days, Radio France Festivale Présences, Festival Pablo Casals, to name a few.

INTRO Composer is a Music Norway administered launch/promotional programme in which a composer is given priority and extra funding over a three year period. The programme is staged in partnership with nyMusikk, Ultima and the Norwegian Society of Composers and is supported financially by Norway’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
