DESCRIPTION:
Alice Zawadzki and her band played 2 sets at Matt & Phreds jazz club in Manchester's northern quarter on Saturday 29th March - "Gdybym Miał Gitarę" (an old Polish folk song) was part of the second set, which was longer and more varied than the first and also included jazzed up versions of "Wonderwall" by Oasis and "All I Want" by Joni Mitchell. They carried on playing until well after 1AM (which became 2AM as the clocks moved forward)....

It's quite brave to try to sing a song in Polish if you can barely speak the language and her pronunciation leaves a lot to be desired, but her voice is amazing. Matt & Phreds was noisy as usual and 3 fat people walked into the club from Oldham Street and right past where I was sitting about a third of the way through the song....
