The JAH KINGS is Alexander Kofi Washington's dream and passion. A native of Gary, Indiana, his drive, steadfastness, and hard work show in his positive, inspirational funky roots reggae music that has been acclaimed and revered as the best up and coming reggae sound. The JAH KINGS has truly made its mark by their Love CD being nominated Best Reggae CD and Alexander being nominated Best Reggae Performer at the 2002 Chicago Music Awards as well as their Now CD being nominated Best World CD at the 2004 Jammie Awards. The JAH KINGS musical movement has spanned the globe from The United States to Brazil, to South Africa and England. Alexander Kofi Washington has been performing professionally since the age of 15. He is not only the chief vocalist and songwriter, but also plays guitar, keyboards, drums and percussion in the studio. Alexander is a former world-class athlete that represented the U.S. National Track and Field Team overseas and was an Olympic trial semi-finalist in 1988. He was inducted into the Western Michigan University Hall of Fame in 1997. He is a former case worker and intake referee in the Michigan Juvenile Court System, and continues community service through motivational speaking, teen and adult counseling, and personal coaching/training. His life and commitment is spreading Jahs words of righteousness, unconditional love and non-judgment. Alexander has just returned from a mindblowing, successful trip from Ghana West Africa! All of his goals were achieved concerning his Musik. Having literally walked the streets of Accra, with his guide and Legendary Patriotic Song Composer and Poet Ato Isiah Freeman Morrison, and greeted by the people that he met with "Hey Rasti" or "Hey Rasta", Alexander appeared on National Television, Radio, and Newpapers. Alexander was introduced to one of the most established Media Producers in Ghana by his young friend Enoch. His new found Media Producer, Mantse Aryeequaye featured Alexander on "Thank God It's Friday" Talk Show with the very popular Host KSM. The show was viewed throughout the country of Ghana as no one misses KSM as he is like the "Johnny Carson" or "Jay Leno" of Ghana! It was an absolute hit as Alexander and KSM seemed like they knew each previously. In addition to acknowledging the African people as "the Root of King David" and the need for Africans from abroad to forgive and reconcile to heal what happened as a result of the Atlantic Slave Trade, Alexander performed his hit song "African Diaspora" while the Nation watched in amazement! After the show, KSM contacted Mantse and expressed that the interview with Alexander was one of the Best that he could recall, also that the people had been calling in to celebrate the show, wanting the Show to be shown again, and making orders for the new album "African Diaspora" and the album is not even completed yet! Alexander was interviewed on VIBE FM by Ras Black Santino, on Radio Gold by Vibe I and Queen Beatrice, and at the Ghana Broadcasting Company Radio Station by Ras Mubarak who interviewed Alexander exclusively about the "Joseph Project" and Race Relations with Africans and African Americans. The CD NOW is now in rotation on all three Radio Stations. The CD NOW is also in rotation on the University of Ghana's Radio Station by Spoken Word Warrior DK. Alexander also performed in the Capitol City of Ghana, Accra, at the Wednesday Night of Spoken Word and Entertainment at Chelsae's Pub, Jazztones, Entertainment Magazine's Media Launch at Afrodisiacs, MTV Base Show at Hypnotic, and the Tollimaster Comedy Series which aired LIVE on Radio Gold!! At every stop, JAH spoke through Alexander with such Force that the Country of Ghana is now on "Fire" about this "New School Reggae Star" from the U.S.! And at every stop the people demanded their copy of the New Album "African Diaspora!" Having surgically placed Alexander at the best locations for the best exposure, Mantse then followed up by featuring his new client in VIBE Magazine, one of Ghana's most popular Entertainment Magazines, on three occasions. Mantse even had Alexander on Metro TV, another popular Television Station in Ghana, for the fourth time the day before he left for the U.S. Alexander also embraced a very popular Publicist Lawrencia Duah as his Publicist and Manager.

Alexander was also embraced by the Ministry of Tourism and Diasporian Relations after meeting his Honorable Jake Obetsibi Lamptey, Minister of Tourism. As a result of this meeting, and embrace of the Minister's daughter Rachelle Lamptey, Alexander and the JAH KINGS will be performing at the Healing Concert on August 8,2007 with CC Winans. Rachelle Lamptey is one of the organizers of the Healing Concert through the Joseph Project. Alexander was also embraced by the Chiefs in the Asutifi District in Northeast Ghana on behalf of the Economic Development Department of Gary,Indiana to establish a Sister City Relationship between the two cities for Economic Development, Trade, Education, and Business.

Alexander was also hired on as a Coordinator and Representative for the Friends of Tourism International for the purposes of Tourism, Investment, and Relocation. He will be supported by the Friends of Tourism to travel throughout the U.S. and Carribean to share the Organization's Mission to attract Africans, black and white, to come home and experience Ghana for Healing, for Economic Opportunities, and to actually acquire land to build a home to live. Developers are already in place! Through the Friends of Tourism, land has been cited for the purpose of establishing an African American Village, and Alexander has been chosen to Coordinate and reside at this location to be one of the first of many villages for those in the Diaspora who are feeling the call to go "Home". Many people feel this call!!

Through the Friends of Tourism International, Alexander visited Forts Usher and James, as well as Cape Coast Castle. Eventhough the actual visit was horrific, great Healing came to pass as Alexander wrote his family's name on the "Door of No Return", as he did return to complete the circle!!!! Alexander has expressed adamantly, "Ill never be the same!"

As a result of this very successful trip, Alexander will be returning to Ghana with his wife in July to prepare for the Healing Concert, other Shows, and the release of the well awaited Album "African Diaspora" to be released in September! Alexander extends his heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to YAHWEH ELLYON ELOHEEM, his Ancestors, his Mother Lucille Rollins, his wife Moonshadow, his Children, Reverend Emmanuel Konuah Quarshie, Ato Isiah Freeman Morrison, the Tachyi Family, Nana Kankam, and all of his family, friends, myspace friends, and fans who supported him through prayer for this Historic Trip to his Homeland. Stay tuned as Greater Things are on the Horizon!!
