The sound is high-pitched in the smoke-filled room. On a pair of high-legged chairs sit two girls, surrounded by Hancock-brews in rainbow colored miniature tumblers. One girl is laughing louder than the other, and the glasses are being filled, raised and emptied time and time again. If one did not know better, one would be tempted to believe that these two were lifelong friends on a ritualized booze bender. That, however is not the case, as the two eager girls who just cannot stop talking have just met each other for the first time – and the chemistry between them is magnetic. Has destiny pushed these two fiery, likeminded souls together?

To Josephine Philip and Ane Trolle it felt like that. There are too many coincidences for this to be a random throw of the dice…

Thus did the ringing glasses start a collective journey of the imagination along with a personal fusion of an almost Siamese nature. The last round at Shamrock Heart bar became the first round in a new, colourful relationship, which would send Josephine Philip and Ane Trolle on a musical escapade, accompanied by green koala bears, glittering galar fish, and magical reindeer.

This “unreal reality” was quickly named after the small colored paper that we throw at weddings and parties. Yes, Confetti. (Which is “JA, confetti” in Danish) the girls exclaimed in unison, when the entirely appropriate word appeared. The comma was quickly removed, and the fact that the initials suited the girls first names, only cemented the appropriateness of the name. A numerologist couldn’t have done better! JaConfetti became– literally – a reality.

Moreover Josephine Philip transformed into the lucky four-leaf clover Yvone Coco, and Ane Trolle into Ella Mau with the powerful heart. The foundation stone of the mythology was in place, together the two surrealists would realize a mission, that would spread their magical confetti throughout the entire world.

In their luggage, both Josephine Philip and Ane Trolle have hard-working experience from the underground music environment in Copenhagen. Many genres and musical expressions have been tested and developed throughout the past ten years. Both girls, comparatively late, started to identify themselves as singers, and the first voice-experiments occurred independently from each other, in their late teens. It was the impulsive and the improvising aspect that made both Josephine Philip and Ane Trolle pounce on the vocal debaucheries, which, among other things, took place in the rhythms of hip-hop, break beat, dub, reggae, electro, house and drum’n’ bass.

Josehine Philip was for several years a part of the now disbanded all-girl ska band Favelachic, whose debut concert took place in 2003 in the now defunct “Ungdomshuset”. After Favelachic, the surf/reggae trio “Fabula Beat” occurred, comprising herself together with the guitarist and bass player from Favelachic. Along with the DJ Sensimilla, Josephine Philip formed “Dullen & Dyken”. Apart from being a second-hand designer and experience shop at Nørrebro in Copenhagen, “Dullen & Dyken” is also a dance-generating sound system, that has been visiting most nightclubs in Copenhagen as well as abroad. This also resulted in her travelling to several places in the world, performing as MC with miscellaneous Danish and foreign DJ’s. Moreover, the duo Filur, also made use of Josephine Philips vocal on their latest album “Into The Wasteland”.

Ane Trolle began her journey at the age of 19, performing with a range of DJs and sample artists in the field of electronic and urban genres. Ben Horn, Melk, F.U.K.T. are among the artists who made use of the voice and vocal chords of Ane Trolle. In addition there was a highly successful cooperation with Martin Sibenhaar (aka. Pato), Peder and Anders Trentemøller. More recently, Trolle//Sibenhaar made National Danish Radio fall over with the catchy tune “Sweet Dogs”. “Moan” by Trentemøller and “White Lillies” by Peder both feature the unique voice of Ane Trolle.

Following that fateful and joyous meting at the bar, Yvone Coco and Ella Maus began their journey. They calmly started a process of musical development. This evolution was unavoidable, as the musical ideas were queued up inside both girls. The ping-pong interaction between the adventurers often began at a well-spread table, from where the Siamese bodies, loaded with creative energy, converted them into a colourful musical explosion at their mobile studio. The outline of a new musical universe was quickly becoming clear and the contours have subsequently been filled with unlimited fantasies, colored fairytales and a musical curiosity – in cooperation with a row of experienced producers such as Eddie Confetti, Buda, Ben Horn and Thomas Troelsen. The imaginative confetti-tale, which contains both hysterical zest for life and appealing hazardous situations, is now sealed on their debut album “The Rainbow Express”, which – in relation to both music and text , sends the listener to the other side of the rainbow…

The first single ”Hold Nu Kay” and their second single ”Step Up” had great air play on the Danish national radio station, and at the Danish Music Awards 2008 they won for best music video for the video ”Step Up”. Besides that they have been nominated for several awards.
