Bear Bones - The Garden - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jan 28, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
This is seriously one of the saddest and sweetest songs I've ever heard and I think more people need to know about this band. This is a somewhat impromptu performance of "The Garden" at Wickerman. Hopefully this song will be on their upcoming full length.

Lyrics (as far as I can tell):

My skin's gotten old and it's cracked and it's done
But it's lasted me all of my life
The words never listen and the sounds never come
I lost that when I lost my wife.

Though this room means nothing
To you it's my world
And I don't have a reason to go
I talked to god at night
Praying for time for people that I used to know
That I used to know.

But I've met a girl who reminds me of you, love
She delivers the strength to my bones
My memory swims and I breathe underwater
And I never can on my own

The house is still quiet and the smell is not yours
And my heart it still beats for your chest.
I left for you now I'm left with myself
And I'm cursing this space in our bed.

The tree that I loved fell down over the wall
And I thought about you.
I could give up, I could kick the door shut
But I have to keep going for you

Cause I was a young man in love
At night her eyes shut and she never woke up for me
And I'm left with flowers to feed
The garden we planted is falling in my hands, you see
I'm no good without you.

This is the first time I've said it out loud
"I've missed you for almost a year."
Your clothes are still hanging like the way they were found.
And I can't believe you're not here

The house is still quiet
And the smell is not yours
And my heart it still beats for your chest
I left for you and I left for myself
In time I will learn to ignore the cold at night.
