A short intro to the northside's original alternative disco, The Grove and a few words from the main man, Cecil.
The Grove was an alternative disco based in the north Dublin suburbs of Clontarf and then Raheny. It ran for 30 years between '67 and '97. The DJ, Cecil, was the man behind the disco and the man responsible for the music. This year, 2017, The Grove celebrates it's 50th anniversary by returning back to one of it's original venues, the school gymnasium of St. Paul's College on August 25th and 26th.
