Find incredible chord voicings | Watch 3 Amazing Maestros play the exact same song | Tutorial incl - Video

DESCRIPTION:
In this video, Rodney East, Cornell Thigpen, and Wendell Lowe each play their take of "what a friend we have in Jesus" using unique gospel styles on a Hammond organ. Initially, Sean thought this would be an easy project but had to constantly adjust his "hearing" to the style, chord structures, and approach of the musicians playing. The entire presentation took Sean to a place he himself did not expect while reflecting on his own upbringing and also while studying Master Musicians who use out of control voicings. This video goes deep into some melodic and harmonic improvisation in a way that the prior videos have not yet touched. You'll see....

Some people may get confused between playing the melody and playing from a "melodic approach." They're different. Watch the video
