Chosen as Editor’s Pick by the Washington Post last year, the Serenade! Festival has become a vital part of the D.C. choral scene and consistently surpasses expectations. Since 2011, the festival has presented choirs from Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Russia, Poland, Colombia, China, Latvia, Indonesia, Czech Republic, Germany, Australia, Cuba, Spain, and Canada. This year, Classical Movements was pleased to present choirs from three countries that have never made an appearance in the festival: the Netherlands, Zimbabwe and Norway. Several of these choirs are professional and will add depth and quality to an impressive lineup of outstanding choirs that will be showcasing a diverse repertoire, ranging from classical to contemporary music, much of which will be performed a cappella.
