24 year old emcee Influx has been putting in the work smashing shows from the UK to foreign shores for a while now. Far from your average hip hop artist, Influx takes influence from a variety of genres and matches metaphorical wordplay with intelligent concepts. Inspired by travelling the world, dreams, reality and everything in between, Influx writes songs to equally inspired beats.
Currently on the roster for well respected and fast growing music brand Raygun Youth, Influx plays monthly shows in Southampton UK as well as hosting regular radio shows. Past features include tracks on 'Hip Hop Connection' cover mount CDs and in 2008 Influx released a taster of things to come with the 'Cascade' EP.
Artists Influx has supported include Foreign Beggars, Professor Green, Devlin, Jehst, Taskforce, Sway, Mix Master Mike (Beastie Boys), Dub Pistols, Stig & Dr Syntax, Souls of Mischief (US), Ugly Duckling (US), Kidz in the Hall (US), Phi Life Cypher, Million Dan, Brookes Brothers, Danny Byrd, Blak Twang, Skinnyman, Assaviour, Soweto Kinch…. the list goes on!
Summer 2010 saw a healthy number of gigs from Influx including a mini tour to promote the single 'Days to Night'. The track was released 1/7/10 and is being sold by all large digital music retailers.
'Days to Night' has received local, national and international airplay from radio stations including BBC Radio 1Xtra. The track comes from an album Influx is currently recording with producer Bailo entitled 'Sleep When You're Dead' and can be heard on this page's audio player.
