English reading with the Sanksrit reading subtly/softly in the background carrying the original Transmission of Wisdom and Direct Experience beyond words...

This song is full of Keys that lead to Pratyahara, Experience of Absorption in the Absolute, and Self-Realization - Spontaneous Moksha/Liberation!

It's quite ok if you are unable to follow the speed of the reading, allow your mind to relax , try to find the "listener" or perceiver, and without effort the experience of "Meditation" arises...

The Avadhuta Gita is a Powerful Transmission of the Pure Wisdom of The Great Sage Dattatreya. Dattatreya says that anyone who reads or hears the Avadhuta Gita will have Moksha.

In Darshan Baba's opinion the Avadhuta Gita is one of - if not the Text with the Most Pure and Direct relation of the Knowledge of Self-Realization, Illumination, or Enlightenment. The text transcends all duality and dogmas bringing the clearest picture in words possible of that Infinite Knowledge/Experience of Supreme Self beyond words...
Some quotes relating the flavor and attitude of the pure Knowledge of Self-Realization from the Avadhuta Gita Follow.

"The essence and whole of Vedanta is this Knowledge, this Supreme Knowledge: that I Am by nature the formless, all-pervasive, Self."

"If God pervades all, if God is immovable, full, undivided, then I see no division. How can that One have exterior or interior?"

"You are verily the Truth. There is no doubt about it-otherwise, what do I know? Why do you consider the Self, which is perceptible to Itself, as imperceptible?"

"I am free in the beginning, the middle, and the end. I Am never bound. This is my sure knowledge--that I Am naturally spotless and pure."

"The Absolute is not liberated from bondage and obstruction. The Absolute is not purified, cleansed, and released. The Absolute is not liberated by union or separation. I Am, indeed, the free One, like the sky."

"There is no need of knowledge, reasoning, time, space, instruction from a teacher, or attainment of samadhi. I am naturally the perfect Consciousness the Real, like the Sky, spontaneous and steady."

"The Self certainly does not become pure through the practice of six-limbed yoga. It certainly is not purified by the destruction of the mind. It certainly is not made pure by the instructions of the teacher. It is Itself the Truth, It is Itself the illumined One."

"Where mind and speech can utter nothing, how can there be instruction by a teacher? To the teacher---ever united with Brahman--who has said these words, the homogeneous Truth shines out."

"Of the teacher--even if he be young, illiterate, or addicted to the enjoyment of sense objects--none of these should be considered. Does anyone shun a gem fallen in an impure place?"

"In such a case one should not consider even the quality of scholarship. A worthy person should recognize only the essence. Dose not a boat, though devoid of beauty and vermilion paint, nevertheless ferry passengers?"

The Avadhuta Gita of Dattatreya has been a favorite text for practice of Darshan Baba's for many years. He started with just reading the English translation, at least one chapter to the full book per day. Darshan felt amazing Transmissions of energy and the Presence of Dattatreya, even with just reading the English translations. It is not necessary to read the sanskrit, and it actually can be more beneficial to read what you can understand. http://youtu.be/zkjNlZUCsKo

Eventually as Darshan Baba began practicing reading long texts in the transliterated sanskrit, he began practicing with the Sanskrit version as well. Darshan Baba not only read, recited and studied the text, but would also memorize Shlokas (lines) from the text and meditate on these short powerful statements for periods of regular practice. Darshan then found amazing depths of wisdom to these short statements, which then carry one to an experience of Consciousness and Self-Realization which goes beyond knowledge limited by words and reason.
