The blessed event and conception of Idle Hands took place in the early weeks of December 1998 in the back-seat of a Saturn at the local Claremont, California Denny's. Three members from the hardcore punk band Suburban Empire and ex-singer from the early leagues of Emo-core band COPPER, thought that a new direction and sound was well needed in their music careers. A clean and fun mix between West Coast hardcore-punk with East Coast melodic-driving vocals, gave birth to a fast and fresh new sound and energy.
Lyrics:
I know the time isn't right
To break things down and lay them out
And I know the days are long
You broke your wings with the road you chose
Bye, bye my dear.
The lights went down, you found your high, there's no way out
You had the voice of an angel
You'd take the stage, lights came on, the room went wild, your heart sang out
You had the determination
To write the words we've never heard
To make us feel our lives had worth
Bye, bye my dear
The lights went down, you found your high, there's no way out
Two records and a load of cash was all you thought
Two records and a load of cash was all you needed
Two records and a load of cash was all you got
Two records and a load of cash, and now you're faded
Now days go by and all is gone
The rumors spread, the star fell down, I can't believe what is said
Maybe I'll see you somewhere
I'll pass you by without a clue, your tattered clothes, your soiled shoes
Bye, bye my dear
The lights went down, you found your high, there's no way out
Two records and a load of cash was all you thought
Two records and a load of cash was all you needed
Two records and a load of cash was all you got
Two records and a load of cash, and now you're faded
You were the only one who had the spark to make it far,
To sing the songs of who we are.
When did your music die?
Gave up your dreams, you let them slide, they've passed you by
Bye, bye my dear
The lights went down, you found your high, there's no way out
