After multiple trips to India, I developed a rule for the types of food I can eat so I don't get sick when I'm there. After mentioning this on my Instagram, the internet went nuts, and I was accused of everything from perpetuating negative stereotypes to outright hating India. Although these things make no sense, I do think it's a great opportunity to talk about the harm we can cause ourselves we are so easily offended. Does getting offended ever really help us?
