"Jazzvolution is a progressive instrumental compilation series exploring the connection between jazz and hip hop. The ultimate project vision is to present an aural and experientel argument for the idea that beatmaking is an evolution of jazz foundations. The improvisational and experimental aesthetics of jazz are modernized through hip hop production and the concept of sampling, where artists recontextualize old sounds to create a unique and original work. This project features beats by artists from all over the world and is just the first step in an ongoing series of boundary bending experiments of hip hop and jazz.
