DESCRIPTION:
Hello everybody! Thank you very much for watching this video! This is one of the most incredible piano pieces ever written and very popular in the last years as it was featured in the award-winning movie "The pianist", by Roman Polansky, in a very emotional scene. Some researchers and sources suggested that Chopin's Ballads were highly influenced by Adam Mickiewcks Ballads and poems. Some even more adventurous analysts suggest that the epic poem "Konrad Wallenrod" by Mickiewics as the main influence of particular this Ballad. For the intepretation of this work, I tried to keep a constant pulse in the repeated two-note in the bass. All the melodies flow free and always different around this constant and dramatic pulse. On all the rapid scales and arpeggios figurations, I tried to make them vary with different, subtle and delicate "touches". For the big climax at the end, on the contrary, I tried to give a warm but solid sound to get the dramatic atmosphere.

Según algunas fuentes y analistas las Baladas de Chopin fueron compuestas inspiradas en las baladas y poemas de Adam Mickiewicz. Algunos analistas más aventurados señalan que esta Balada en particular esta inspirada en el poema épico "Konrad Wallenrod" de Adam Mickiewicz. Para la interpretación de esta obra intenté mantener un pulso constante en las notas dos repetidas del bajo. Todas las melodías fluyen libremente sobre este constante pulso dramático. En todas las escalas, arpegios y figuraciones rápidas intenté hacerlas con varios diferentes y delicados tipos de toque. Para el gran final, por el contrario, intenté hacerlo con el sonido más lleno, firme y cálido posible para obtener la atmósfera drámatica.
