Pat Metheny sound - Unity Hollow Tone - BOSS GT-100 (GT-001) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Dec 13, 2016
DESCRIPTION:
A bit like the Pat Metheny Unity Band Hollow Tone. With BOSS GT-100 (GT-001). I wanted a hollow sound with string sound and good dynamic 'plop' in the tone. It sounds good with a bit of mic mixed to the sound but I like it without mic too. I play with the round side of a .73 mm Schaller Yellow pick. Angled to the string and let the string 'slip' or 'plop' away under the pressure of the attack.

This sound was made for recording via headphone output. Also works well for live performance, with a few changes in the BOSS GT-100 GENERAL settings. The reduced low frequencies reduce feedback.

I don't like some of the 'far away' sounds Pat uses on a Unity Band record. So this is more like the recent video, but with a different reverb. Whatever... I hope you can use it.

Modeled after recorded sounds. I know Pat Metheny uses a 3-way system with delayed tone trough detuned sine wave. But that is not the experience you get from a stereo record.

Hope it helps!
