REVIEW
Pros:
This amp is great!

1.Compared to all other amps in its price range (I paid around £180 including all postage etc.) this amp has WAY MORE glass inside! For the same price as a Blackstar HT-1 or an Orange Micro Terror Stack and for far less than a Blackstar HT-5R, this amp comes with 2 12AX7 Preamp tubes and 1 EL84 tube - the same combination of valves as the most iconic Hiwatt amps. It's competitors have 2 valves at most, if not utilising a Valve/Solid State Hybrid.

Laney Cub 8 - 1x6V6GT Power Tube, 1xECC83/12AX7 Preamp tube (£130)

Blackstar HT5 - 1 x ECC83, 1 x 12BH7 (£300)

Blackstar HT1 - 1xECC83 and 1xECC82 (£179)

Orange Micro Terror - Preamp: 1 x Ecc83/12ax7 (£99 - head only)

Bugera V5 - 1x EL84, 1x 12AX7 (£150)

Vox Lil' Night Train - 2x 12AX7 preamp vacuum tubes; 1x 12AU7 power tube (£260)

VHT Special 6 - 1x 12AX7 Preamp Tube (£150)

E-Wave DG-5H - 2x 12AX7 Preamp Tubes, 1x EL84 Power Tube (£85- head only)

2. As a result, this thing is LOUD! Provided you're playing with a classic-hard rock distortion, this amp is definitely gigable.

3.Due to the genuine Celestion Vintage 30 speaker in the cab, the world's most popular speaker, this thing sounds great as well as being loud!

4.It looks wicked - just like a mini Marshall Plexi. If you took the logos off and replaced them with Marshall ones it would look the real deal..

5. Obviously, it's cheap.

6. What's really cool is how much versatility is on offer from a 3-knob set up. All the clean-ish sounds have the gain and master at 12 O'clock, the Classic Rock sounds have the gain at 1 O'Clock and the Master at 11 O'clock and the heavier sounds have the gain at 3 O'clock and the master at 9 O'clock. There's a vast range of gain available and the tone knob is actually very effective and usable. After 2 days of getting used to no reverb and only 3 knobs, this amp really opens up. Plus, it has an effects loop!

It sounds sweet from everything from Chili Peppers to Hendrix to heavier stuff which I hope I demonstrated throughout.

Cons:

1.The standby switch fades in, rather than instantly cutting in. This is actually quite cool sometimes but other times its not so practical.

2. If you love playing jazz, the one channel set up probably isn't for you. However, the amps brother which has one less tube but an extra channel might be!
