Lagos, Nigeria. Went out for an early morning walk on the beach outside my hotel. We were warned about going out alone in this part of Lagos. I see an African waking up from his open-air home on the beach. All his worldly possessions in a little pouch next to his worn out guitar case I'm drawn to him like a magnet. We greet each other like ol friends. We talk about music. he shows me some of his demo Cd's recorded with his band when he was well. Typhoid took out of action for a couple of years and now he lives on the beach trying to get back into the action he says... as he pulls out his weathered guitar from it's worn case.
