HI SPIN He is one of the innovating DJs and promoters of the western part of Germany, the “Ruhrgebiet”. As a typical child of the 80s he became part of the subculture which revolted against the establishment. With the foundation of the initiative for musicians “Stunk e.V.” in the late 80s he started playing bass in various punk, indierock, funk, dub and reggae bands. In the early 90s he attracted lots of attention with his “Riddim Ruler Soundsystem”. Strongly inspired by the label On-U Sound and its creator Adrian Sherwood he fully lived his passion for dub, rootsreggae, ska and bluebeat and dedicated himself to the fusion of old- and new-school. Using effect tools, samples and scratches he broke the barriers of analogue music. Through his open-mindedness towards varying styles he then developed his affection towards electronic music. He continuously extended his collection of records ever since. At first he worked as a lounge-DJ in cafes, bars and at goa-parties. 1996 he got his first residency at the Bochum theatre, the “Schauspielhaus Bochum”. Since then, he displayed his skills at a significant amount of clubs, festivals and parties. In his pushing sets he merges different sounds from electro, techno, house to breakbeat effortlessly into an ultimate freestyle-dance floor of pumping beats and enormous basses. As a promoter, he started building up a reputation when he brought the Pow Pow Soundsystem into the region. Since then he tirelessly looked for and found new places, where he could set up his parties and events. Since 2002 he organises the ambitious underground club “Tanzpalast” at the Bochum theatre where, in a sudoriferous “ritual” he introduces the crowd to the the wide world of “electronica”. The Spinclub - www.spinclub.de - acts as a forum for HI SPIN’s future plans and provides a platform for his allies in combat. Here you will find various producers, DJs and VJs, which can be booked through the Spinclub. Some of them are upcoming talents, which are already well-known at regional and national level.
