Today I bring to you a mixtape from bay area, focused on the legendary crew : the Hieroglyphics. I always had a big feeling with east coast flava but these dudes from the west are so cool, so hip hop, so jazzy that they became through years a big part in my records collection. I’ve always thinked that their mentality was doing good music with good friends and still hip-hop, nothing more nothing less. 93 ‘til infinity is pure, I don’t know if there another hip hop videoclip where you can see car burning rubbers and rappers spiting verses in forests landscapes at the same time, they represented the opposite of guns, chicks or fake postures wich became popular in hip hop during 90’s. The history shows that no matter you are talented, your success depends almost only of luck or others factors you can’t control, they didn’t have the success they deserved, especially after the first Souls Of Mischief album, but you know what? We don’t care about that, the whole crew still one of the best of hip hop history.
