Hey Bulldog - The Beatles (Drum Cover & Remix) drumless mogg file used - Video
PUBLISHED:  May 10, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
Drum cover of Hey Bulldog by The Beatles from the Yellow Submarine album.

Triggering the Early 60s kit from Abbey Road 60s Drums software.

This cover was recorded using a .mogg file. I believe these files are from the Beatles RockBand game which were provided to me by my You Tube friend Rogerio. They are opened with Audacity, (freeware audio editing software) and contain separate tracks (usually 2 each) of the drums, bass, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, piano and vocals. I then bounce down each of these tracks, with the exception of the drums, to their own .aif or mp3 audio file which I then import into Logic Pro 9 generating their own track. I can then create my own mixes. In essence I'm playing George Martin, and can add effects, panning, and other miscellaneous audio editing. I then record my drum tracks along with these edited Beatles tracks playing, thereby creating a whole new unique mix not found anywhere.

The tracks are virtually drum less, though because The Beatles recorded together all in the same room, there is some minor leakage of the drums onto some of the other instrument tracks. This allows me more freedom to drum like I'm the original drummer on the track. I'm playing the songs more like myself than trying to cop Ringo's drumming.

First in a series of four covers using these mogg files. (I Dig A Pony, I've Got a Feeling, and While My Guitar Gently Weeps, included)

I had earlier covered Helter Skelter and Back In The USSR employing a mogg file for the source tracks.

Sept 2012: Listening to the original recording I noticed that Ringo plays four-on-the-floor during the riffs, oops!!, oh silly me, but I dig what i play in that section, so that's the way it is and just another way to interpret the rhythm.
