DESCRIPTION:
Dominig Bouchaud, born in Nantes, is a French harpist of Breton culture, specialized in Breton music. Since the late 1970s, he tries to adapt the all possibilities of the harp, to traditional music. Graduated, he shares his knowledge to as many people in France and abroad, as well as in the writings. After finishing his studies at the Regional Conservatory of Nantes, Dominig Bouchaud studied pedal harp at the National Conservatory of Paris for Music and studied with Jacqueline Borot. After getting the first harp award unanimously by the juries on the Conservatory in 1978, he studied with Pierre Jamet. The following year, after being in contact with Breton and Irish musicians, he falls in love with the Celtic harp and traditional music Kan Air BOBL. This meeting follows a backup and reconstruction of their traditional repertoire process, largely based on adapting the repertoire sung, modal and monophonic and all the polyphonic possibilities of the harp.
