Hemispheres, The Rush Tribute, was formed in November 2002 by four talented New Jersians who all shared an obsession with their favorite Toronto hard rock trio. The band's original lineup included vocalsit Rob Cox, guitarist Leroy Aiello and drummist Jimmy Peruta as well as Robert “Zeek” Maziekien on bass & keys. After two successful years of gigging around the New Jersey/New York/Pennsy region, Zeek left Hemispheres to pursue other projects. On Mother's day 2004, Leroy contacted friend Pete Blomstrom and offered him the job- Pete accepted that minute! After several months of rehearsal the band was up and gigging again and never looked back.

We have been having fun ever since, attempting to recreate the music of RUSH as closely as possible. Our hard work came to fruition in July of 2005 when we were chosen to play Rushcon 5 in Toronto. We became one of only a few national acts that reached RUSHCON and were the only tribute band voted BY Rush fans to perform. We played 2 sets; 4 hours of RUSH to hundreds of amazingly receptive fans. The mass of RUSH afficions were treated to such obscure gems as: The Fountain of Lamneth, Hemispheres complete, Chemistry, Afterimage, Cinderella Man, The Pass & Mission as well as the classics and hits such as Tom Sawyer, Limelight, Xanadu, Closer to the Heart and Freewill. It was a night to remember!

Hemispheres continues to perform material from every RUSH era including the new the old and the obscure from a catalogue spanning over thirty years. We play the epics, the hits and especially the obscure tunes you will never again hear performed by RUSH in concert. We change our sets often so you really don't know what era of RUSH your going to hear at any given time.it's about having fun and enjoying what we do.and boy do we!

Due to the rigors of gigging, the members took off during the summer and fall of 2006, leaving Hemispheres on a temporary hiatus. We took the time off to breathe, regroup, repair broken down equipment and map our new direction.

Recently the band has had the pleasure of enlisting a new member, Eddie Del Gaudio, who will take over on Drums and Electronic Percusion. Eddie is even more of a RUSH nut than any of us and you will soon hear him live!

So we hope to see you at a future show.till then.

Cheers,

Hemispheres
