The WMD of it's day, the Battleship the Maine blew up in Havana Harbor in 1898 and provided a pretext for the USA to go to war against Spain. This song, first recorded in the 1920s by Red Patterson and his Piedmont Log Rollers, took a comic stance on the affair.
