Marika Rökk sang "When es Frühling wird" in her 1940 movie "Kora Terry" in which she played twin sisters Kora and Mara Terry. Though Kora and Mara are twin sisters they are very different. Kora is cold and ambitious while Mara is soft and kind hearted. After Mara accidentally kills Kora during an argument Mara decides to take Kora's place because she needs to take care of Kora's daughter. Tops, the sisters' caretaker takes the blame for killing Kora/Mara and goes to jail.

This video features the dramatic "Hungarian" song "Wenn es Frühling wird" (When spring comes) which was initially rejected by Kora Terry because it is too boring. Much later after Mara has taken Kora's place and had become a star she performs "When es Frühling wird" in Rome where Varany is performing as well. Not knowing it is really Mara performing Varany is surprised to see his song performed the way he had composed it. At the end of the movie a more uptempo version is performed by Mara uinder her own name.

The recorded version combines both.
