Born in East Africa, in the Nairobi province of Kenya, Hardstone grew up listening to reggae and American r&b records from his father's collection, Hardstone also got a lot of influence from, world music, from different regions of Africa and other parts of the world, Hardstone also couldn't escape the hip hop culture which seem to influence a lot of young people from all across the globe, all races from Africa to America to Europe to Asia, Hardstone listened to hip hop records on tapes, vinyl and CD recorded by friends and Djs who traveled all over the world , this gave Hardstone an opportunity to explore other genre of music and have an open ear to what the other parts of the world were doing. Hardstone was the first contemporary African solo performer to release a full length compact disc, "Nutting but De Stone" which contained popular African, European , American and Carribean blends with big hits, Uhiki and Msichana Mwafrika" hitting big on Kenyan charts. Hardstone Uhiki took Kenya by storm and virtually changed the sound of Kenyan pop music.



Hardstone's Debut with "Nutting but the Stone drew international attention landing Hardstone endorsements from Konica Camera, a record deal with German based Kelele records , kenya brewery, the flood gates opened for Hardstone, winning Annual Kisima Award for best new artist of the year. After Hardstone's second album "Ziwekulu" he relocated to the USA to further his career moving to Cleveland Ohio, where he resides. Hardstone completed his third project "HARDSTORY" released through HARDSTONE himself , big banks music and roots foundation .
Hardstone is featured in the award winning documentary HIP HOP COLONY distributed world wide, Hardstone has also had a chance to feature in a book available online and books stores world wide making a mark everywhere he goes, the title of the book is WORLD BOOK OF MUSIC VOLUME 1 among other publications, After a few years in America, Hardstone has managed to tour extensively in the U.S., learning the inside business of the music industry while relentlessly recording and perfecting his Craft. Hardstone latest album " STONE ISLAND" will be released in the fall of 2010. Hardstone created Stone Island Entertainment, an independent Record Label giving him total control of the direction he wants to take his career and Vision as an Artist and business entrepreneur on the global market. Hardstone, never forgetting his roots, has incorporated sounds of Africa, the Island with a perfect blend of American r&b Hip hop in his own way and understanding taking you to a trip and a life time experience through music.



The true vision behind Stone Island surpasses the music industry, reaching out and giving back to the youths' and people of Kenya through music entertainment by educating and setting up seminars and workshops , on how to capitalize and be more effective in the market by perfecting the Art form of music and utilizing other sources that we already have to create jobs and revenue for musicians in the East African region and other parts of the world. Hardstone is also very active in the communities where he resides in and would like to bring back the same hospitality back home where he came from by implementing a project set forth for 2011 involving children and young adults to a water supply project for communities which are less fortunate to clean drinking water , HARDSTONE is bridging countries, healing nations, teaching youths, MUSIC "Stone Island" Welcome to Stone Island.
