Let's see what makes the opening scene so great:

• Quick and quirky dialogue, which not only sets the basic mood of the film, but also provides a lot of information about the main character’s life and relationships.
• Close-ups: however we don’t really see the environment, all the close-ups are really expressive and grab your attention immediately, due to the great actors and the intense colors.
• Tragedy is comic: the father dies unexpectedly, but the following music turns the seriousness of the matter into a weightless and even funny occasion.
• The font of the main title is simple and straightforward, just like the movie.
